Grant Field

Georgia Tech's first game on the site of Grant Field was played in 1905. In 1913, a $15,000 donation by the John W. Grant family was made to the school, and Georgia Tech students were able to build bleachers around their football field. Countless renovations and expansions have occurred at the field, bringing the capacity from 5,600 in 1913 to 55,000 in 2003. Although the stadium was renamed Bobby Dodd Stadium in 1988, the playing surface is still referred to as Grant Field, and it remains the oldest on-campus stadium in NCAA Division I-A.
